Karbonn launches Smart Tab 10 for INR 10,490 in India, runs on Android 4.1

After launching a few 7-inch tablets, Karbonn is now looking to target the 10-inch tablet market with their new Smart Tab 10 tablet, their first 10-inch tablet which they’ve launched in India for an affordable price of INR 10,490.

The Smart Tab 10 has a 9.7″ display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, giving it a higher pixel density than the nearest competitor, the Micromax Funbook Pro, which has a 10.1″ display with a lower resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The tablet runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, and is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz MediaTek processor and 1GB of DDR3 RAM.

There’s a 2 megapixel rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, microSD card slot supporting up to 32GB cards, HDMI output, 3G connectivity via a USB dongle, and a 6,000 mAh battery. Some apps and games come pre-loaded as well, including Angry Birds Seasons, Turbo Fly 3D, Saavan (music streaming app), Google Chrome, Kingsoft Office (the most popular free office app on the Google Play Store), and more.

Karbonn has no doubt made a good tablet that is also a great deal for its price, specially when you compare it to the Funbook Pro, which skims on a lot of specs while being similarly priced to the Smart Tab 10. ASUS disappointed by pricing the Nexus 7 at twice its usual price, so it is good to see local manufacturers providing some well priced alternatives.

The Karbonn Smart Tab 10 is now available at retail stores. More details about the tablet can be seen at the source link.
