What is Rogue Company?
Rogue Company is an online multiplayer shooter that comes with cross-platform support right out of the box. It comes with familiar weapons and different melee styles which allow you to create your own in-game personalized battle style that is advantageous to your particular’s rogue’s skills.
Rogues in the rogue company are different characters that you can earn and unlock. Each rogue comes with their unique advantages and is bundled with their unique battle styles. You can unlock different rogues and create multiple battle styles for different gameplay modes or stick to one and make it your own, the choice is completely up to you.
Is Rogue Company Free To Play?
While Rogue Company is expected to be free once it is released to the public, the current beta versions and early access closed betas are paid. There are three different packs available and all of them give you access to the closed beta. These packs include Starter, Standard, and Ultimate. Each pack has its different perks with the Ultimate pack coming with things like 8 different unlocked Rogues, in-game currency, in-game outfits, and more.

Why is the Closed beta paid?
The Closed beta is a paid feature as having an open beta often leads to more problems than solutions. A closed beta allows devs to address each feedback properly and introduce and focus fixes only on players encountering that particular issue. Open betas also cause a lot of free players to enlist only to never provide devs with feedback. This is counterproductive to the beta phase of a game and can end up delaying the release of the stable version.
Hence, devs have gone with a closed beta program and are offering valuable upgrades with each purchase. These perks and closed beta packs will be unavailable after the stable release and you will either have to earn them in-game or purchase them individually using in-app purchases.
