Android 10 has finally hit the shelves, and OEMs have already started to reveal their timelines for the mega update. Huawei isn’t the biggest player in the business, for sure, but, as confirmed by their official announcement, the company is doing all it can to pull one over the big boys.
At its annual IFA event, Huawei revealed the timeline for Android 10-based EMUI 10, confirming that the newest Google OS will roll out to over 30 Huawei/Honor phones.
The EMUI 10 will officially make its debut with the Mate 30 on September 19th. After the latest flagship, the update will roll out to P30 and P30 Pro in November, while Huawei Mate 20/Pro/RS/X, Honor 20/Pro, Honor View 20 are scheduled to get the OTA a month later, in December.
Huawei P30 Lite, Huawei P20 Series, and Huawei Mate 10 Series are set to get the update in March, at the end of Q1 2020. The company claimed that a few other models would also get the update in the second quarter of 2020.
The EMUI 10 update timeline looks quite magnificent if you’re using an older Huawei device. But considering Huawei’s ongoing problem with the US government, users could be forced to wait longer than the company’s promised.
Many popular Huawei and Honor devices haven’t received the full EMUI 9.1 update, yet, so, expecting them to get the EMUI 10 over the next 6 months seems dangerously hopeful.
In other news, the EMUI 10 beta program for the P30 Pro has gone live. To try what is being termed as the most optimized EMUI skin yet, simply click on this link and follow the procedure.
