Rejoice Huawei P9 users in Philippines! You have some pleasant surprise for you for the weekend. Your wait for the Nougat update for the P9 is now over as Android 7.0 OTA update is here to kill the weekend, and it also gets you Huawei’s EMUI 5.0 custom skin.
The firmware version of the P9 Nougat update is EVA-L19C636B320-FULL. We expect it to go live for P9 Plus too very shortly. Reports are emerging that users who are currently running B190 firmware, are receiving notification for a newer OTA update with build no. B320, sized around 2.13 GB. Even those who haven’t signed up for the beta program of Huawei are in.
The exact model no. in for the update is EVA-L19. If that’s the model no. of your Huawei P9, then be sure to check for an update under Settings.
However, we knew it was coming soon, as we had already got the glimpse of this in the Nougat firmware leaks of the P9. If you are okay with beta Android 7.0 build, then you can check at that page and install it yourself, provided you have compatible handset in hand. Huawei Honor 8 also has a beta firmware based on 7.0 out, which can be found here.
There is another Chinese company whose Nougat update has leaked out, Lenovo, for its Zuk Z2 Plus, but the Nougat beta is not an out-an-out Chinese OEMs affair, as Samsung too has come up with the beta Android 7.0 builds for its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
