We’re hearing that the Huawei Mate 9 is all set to land on US soil next month — Jan 6 to be exact — and we guess Huawei would probably sell the Mate 9 as unlocked, contract-free variant only.
The Mate 9 was released in China back in October, and has remained a China-exclusive thus far. With the US release, it’s hoped that European and Asian markets get the device soon too.
It’s unclear whether Huawei is looking to bring other variants of the device too, which are, Mate 9 Pro and Mate 9 Porsche edition, to the US too. For now, it looks only Mate 9 is sailing across.
Mate 9 is a spectacular device with amazing set of specs, but it was spotted with rather odd issue too — Bendgate if you want. Performance wise the, Mate 9 is an monster. As seen from this GIF comparison, Mate 9 beats the iPhone and Galaxy S7 in app loading time by a mile.
The Mate 9 will be shipping with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with Emotion UI 5.0 running over Nougat. Huawei had announced three variants of the Mate 9: the base model Mate 9, the Mate 9 Pro which is aimed at performance enthusiasts and the Mate 9 Porsche Design which is the max spec option available. The Mate 9 Porsche Design is more of a brand driven fashion statement but it does so in a excellent manner.
The pricing of the Mate 9 starts from $500 and goes on till $1315 for the maxed out Porsche Design variant.
The Huawei P9 and Mate 8 are now receiving the official update to Nougat. Rumors are also surfacing of Huawei making a smartphone with triple SIM support with the code name “Prague“.
