Huawei Mate 10 doesn’t support wireless charging

The Huawei Mate 10 is the 2017 flagship from the Chinese manufacturer. It is available in three variants with slightly different specs and features. The Mate 10 is the most basic variant, while the Mate 10 Pro and the Mate 10 Porsche Design are a step higher.

In a previous post, we told you that the standard Mate 10 is not waterproof. A feature that is present in almost all 2017 flagships. And another missing feature from the Mate 10 series, is wireless charging.

Yes, the Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, and the Mate 10 Porsche Design, do not feature wireless charging. For a 2017 flagship, that is somewhat disappointing. Pretty much every 2017 flagship comes with wireless charging, including the new iPhone 8/8 Plus, and the iPhone X.

Wireless charging has been a feature that’s been available on flagship Android smartphones for quite some time. It can be a useful feature as well. A way to easily charge your phone without having to connect it to any wires. It is a feature that a lot of users would have certainly loved to have on the new device.

The Mate 10 series features a glass back, and the company could have included the wireless charging technology. Yes, the feature isn’t such a big deal at present, as a wireless charger takes much longer to charge a smartphone than a plug-in charger. But such a technology can prove useful as it will get better in the future.

Huawei has included a 4000 mAh battery in all the three variants of the Mate 10. The phones support Huawei’s Supercharge technology, which gives the device up to a day’s battery life from just half an hour of charge.

In short, although wireless charging isn’t a necessary feature, Huawei could have included it on the Mate 10 series. Why did they not? Perhaps it had something to do with the build of the phone. Do you think the Mate 10 series needed wireless charging or is it a negligible feature?

  1. You could have condensed this article down to one paragraph or even less. You said the same thing in different ways over and over and over and over and ov

    1. or just get one of the wireless charging card things and a nice case,
I have mine on order, my wife has one and the wireless setup and couldn’t be happier!

  3. Yes, it would have been great. I have been struggling with changing my phone. Got my charging port changed but still have no keep buying USB cables almost after every 3 – 4 months. Probably will just save up and buy a new phone at this point because I’m at tired. Having to sit for hours holding it in place just to get my phone to a decent percentage.
