Late last month, a rumor surfaced on the internet claiming that the Huawei’s Honor 8 Lite will be launched in India on May 10. Corroborating these claims, the support page for the said smartphone has gone live on the company’s official website indicating that its launch is nearing.

Furthermore, P. Sanjeev, Vice President – Sales, Huawei & Honor Consumer also teased the smartphone a few days ago on Twitter suggesting that the Honor 8 Lite is coming soon to India. With this, it’s pretty much confirmed that the company will launch the phone on May 10.

In case you are wondering, the Honor 8 Lite won’t feature the dual camera setup on the back which was the USP of the original Honor 8. Instead, it will feature a 12MP camera on the back. Now, that’s quite a bummer, but the “Lite” label says it all. At the front will be an 8MP selfie camera.

In terms of specs, the smartphone will be powered by an in-house octa-core Kirin 655 SoC hooked to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. It will have a 5.2-inch Full HD display and run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box with a layer of EMUI 5.0 on top.

A 3,000mAh battery provides the fuel for the device. The Honor 8 Lite comes in four different colors: Black, White, Gold, Blue and is expected to be priced at Rs. 17,999.
