The recently launched HTC U11+ has received an unofficial port of TWRP recovery thanks to XDA member sabpprook who took the TWRP recovery built for HTC U11 running Android 8.0, patched it with U11+ kernel and voilà! TWRP successfully booted on the U11+.

The unofficial HTC U11+ TWRP recovery build available to download at the link below, but we don not recommend you to install it yet on your device since it’s in very alpha stage at the moment. The recovery doesn’t support decrypt, which is a major bummer.

sabpprook shared his alpha TWRP build for U11+ for other knowledgeable members on the forum to fix decrypt, and make the recovery usable for all kinds of purposes. If you’d like to give the recovery a go, there’s an alternate method using which you can boot the unofficial build on your HTC U11+ without actually installing it.

To do so, just grab the unofficial TWRP build from the download link below to your PC, and instead of flashing it, use the fastboot boot twrp-3.1.1-2_unofficial-ocm_2.img command to boot the recovery without installing it. When you’re done testing the unofficial build, just reboot your phone to system.
