HTC’s Mo Versi, just announced the Android 7.0 Nougat update for HTC One A9 on his twitter account. The update will start rolling out to unlocked HTC One A9 devices tonight in the US.
“We have received technical approval on the Nougat OS update, and OTA will begin tonight!” said Mo Versi in the tweet.
The update will most likely roll out gradually to all unlocked HTC One A9 devices in the US. When it reaches your device, you’ll get an update notification. You can also check for it manually via Settings » About » Software updates section on your One A9.
Notably, HTC only recently halted the Android 7.0 Nougat update for HTC 10 because of bugs/issues present on the Nougat firmware. The company haven’t yet confirmed when the update will be resumed, however, independent developer Llabtoofer revealed that Nougat update for HTC 10 will resume within three weeks and will come with January security patch.
We hope the HTC One A9 has been fully tested before being released. Also, since the update is ready and on the roll in US, the international variants of the device should receive the update very soon as well.
