The 5″ HTC phablet that has been rumored numerous times in the past, with its image leaked as well, has been confirmed by a reliable source of HTCSource, who claims that the device will sport a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and a 1080p display with a whopping 480ppi pixel density!

Currently being called the HTC DIx, the source claims that the device will be marketed under the DROID moniker, which could mean that “DIx” stands for DROID Incredible X. The tipster was unable to make the HTC Scribe pen from the Flyer tablet work with the DIx so it could be that HTC isn’t going to market this device with capabilities similar to the Galaxy Note, which it would probably be competing with. The DIx will also not be featuring a microSD slot or a removable battery, which is bound to disappoint those who disliked the same thing about the One X.

But a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and a sharp 480ppi 1080p display will be enough to see people lining up to buy the HTC “Droid Incredible X” DIx. With HTC’s profits dwindling, a device like the DIx will no doubt make a lot of HTC fans drool and be a big seller for HTC.

That’s all the info currently available, but with HTC’s press event coming up in the next week, the DROID Incredible X might get officially announced and clear the mysteries surrounding it. Stay tuned for more info on this in the coming days!
