For a while it looked like online retailer Snapdeal will be selling the HTC Desire 526G+ exclusively, but surprisingly, today the device has hit the retailers, for a price of INR 11,400 — higher by good 1,000 than what we thought it would be priced at Snapdeal. That’s 16GB model that we’re talking about, btw, so maybe the 8GB model would cost around INR 10,400. And, it’s possible that Snapdeal’s exclusive deal included only online sellers.
HTC Desire 526G+ is a decent handset, although, specs-wise it’s easily beaten by the likes of Yu Yureka, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G (our review) and Asus Zenfone 5, to name a few. But when it comes to design taste, only ZenFone 5 stands along, as Desire 526G+ is far ahead of others in beauty, thanks to its dual-tone sleek design, that the company claims won’t fade away like the devices who design fades away.
As a recap, the HTC Desire 526G+ specifications include a 1.7GHz octa-core processor, 1GB RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense UI, and a 4.7 inch display with qHD resolution of 540 x 960 pixels.
HTC Desire 526G+ comes with a 8MP rear camera with BSI Sensor 2.0, aperture of f/2.4, and various pic modes — all of which sound average. For snapping up selfies, you’ll have a 2MP camera. A 2000mAh battery powers HTC Desire 526G+, which supports Dual SIM, both GSM minded, and no LTE.
For its price, it’s easily bested by Yu Yureka, which even gets you LTE on Dual SIM, and costs just INR8,999. Though, it’s hard to grab a Yureka because of the limited quantity on offer every Thursday at Amazon, which is really upsetting many, many people.
Only if Desire 526G+ was priced around INR8,000, it would have made a very exciting phone, a killer one, for its specs and aesthetics.
