When you mute a word or phrase, it will be hidden from:

  • Your Home Timeline (including posts, reposts, and replies containing the muted words).
  • Your Notifications (mentions or replies containing the muted words).
  • Search Results, if specified.

Muted words can be customized to apply for a specific duration or indefinitely.

Visit X.com and log in to your account.

Click on More from the menu on the left-hand side.

Click on Settings and privacy.

Click on Privacy and safety.

Then, click Mute and block.

Select Muted words.

If prompted click Got it.

Click + Add or Add at the top-right of the screen.

Type the word, phrase, or hashtag you wish to mute.
  • Example: spoilers, #politics, or any other text.

Choose where you want the word muted:
  • Timeline: Prevent tweets with the word from appearing.
  • Notifications: Block mentions or replies with the word.
