With the Android 5.1.1 update, TWRP recovery was broken for all Galaxy S6 devices world over. Developers are now slowly fixing things up to get TWRP to work again on Galaxy S6 and the latest working build is coming for the Sprint S6 G920P.
A working TWRP recovery image is now finally available for the Sprint Galaxy S6 G920P running on OF7 Android 5.1.1 update. It isn’t official yet on the TWRP site but users over at XDA are reporting it be working fine for the device. So we guess it’s safe to use. Grab the recovery file from the download links below and easily flash using Odin.

- Unzip the Odin 3.10.6 .zip file and run/open Odin3 v3.10.6.exe file from the extracted files on your PC.
- Boot your Sprint S6 into Download mode:
- Switch off your phone.
- Press and hold “Home + Power + Volume down” buttons for a few seconds until you see a warning screen.
- Press Volume Up on the warning screen to accept it and boot into Download mode.
- Once your Sprint S6 is in download mode, connect it to the PC with a USB cable. The Odin window on PC should detect the phone and show an “Added!!” message.
- Now click on the PA tab on Odin window and select the TWRP recovery .tar file that you downloaded above.
└ Note: DON’T play with any other options on the screen. You’re only required to connect your S6 and select the TWRP recovery file in PA tab. - Click the Start button on Odin and wait for it to finish the process. Once it has finished successfully, you’ll see a pass message on the Odin screen.
- Your phone will automatically reboot when Odin is done flashing. You can then disconnect your Sprint S6.
How to boot into TWRP recovery
- Switch off your phone.
- Press and hold “Home + Power + Volume Up” buttons for a few seconds and soon as you see Galaxy S6 logo on screen, release the buttons. You’ll boot into TWRP recovery.
