Accessories are some of the most powerful pieces of equipment in The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, providing bonuses such as improved defense, better mobility, enhanced guarding, resistance to environmental hazards, and increased resource gains. While Elliot begins with only a single accessory slot, you can eventually unlock two additional slots, allowing much stronger character builds and greater flexibility during exploration and boss fights.
Quick overview of accessory slot unlocks
| Accessory Slots | Unlock Method | Reward Item |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Slot | Available from the start | None |
| 2 Slots | Clear Temple of Trials | Warrior’s Mark |
| 3 Slots | Clear Sophomore’s Trial | Seasoned Warrior’s Mark |
Maximum accessory slots currently available: 3.
Where to find the Temple of Trials
The Temple of Trials is located in the Age of Safekeeping. You can find it west of the large tree with the gravestone and near the first Doorway Ruin encountered during the main story. It is a major challenge dungeon featuring multiple combat rooms that must be cleared consecutively.

How to unlock the second accessory slot
The first accessory upgrade comes from completing the standard Temple of Trials challenge.
Travel to the Temple of Trials in the Age of Safekeeping. Enter the trial and clear all five challenge levels.

Defeat every enemy in each room to advance. Complete the final fifth level, which includes a rematch against Ulfr Frostclaw.
Claim the Warrior’s Mark reward.
Once obtained, the Warrior’s Mark permanently grants +1 accessory slot, increasing your total from one slot to two.
How to unlock the third accessory slot
Later in the story, a tougher version of the challenge becomes available called the Sophomore’s Trial.
Progress through the main story until the game notifies you that the Sophomore’s Trial has opened. Return to the Temple of Trials. Complete all eight advanced trial stages.

Defeat several returning bosses, including:
- Ulfr Frostclaw
- Rathomobile
- Lord of the Maw
- Rouser of Destruction
Finish the final challenge and obtain the Seasoned Warrior’s Mark. This reward grants another permanent accessory slot, bringing your total to three slots.
| Stage | Main Challenge |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | Conveyor-belt terrain |
| Level 2 | Dark goo hazards |
| Level 3 | Collapsing platforms |
| Level 4 | Rathomobile boss |
| Level 5 | Shielded frog enemies |
| Level 6 | Dark combat arena |
| Level 7 | Lord of the Maw boss |
| Level 8 | Rouser of Destruction boss |
Clearing all eight levels awards the Seasoned Warrior’s Mark and your final accessory slot.
Rewards from accessory slot unlocks
| Reward | Effect |
|---|---|
| Warrior’s Mark | Unlocks accessory slot #2 |
| Seasoned Warrior’s Mark | Unlocks accessory slot #3 |
| Magicite Fragments | Earned based on performance in both trials |
The Temple of Trials is also one of the best sources of Magicite Fragments, making it worth revisiting even after obtaining all accessory upgrades.
Best time to attempt the trials
The standard Temple of Trials can usually be completed shortly after discovering it, although having stronger weapons and upgraded magicite will make the run significantly easier. The Sophomore’s Trial is designed for much later in the campaign and features some of the toughest combat encounters in the game. Bringing strong accessories, upgraded weapons, and powerful Faie abilities is highly recommended.
How the extra slots improve your builds
With three accessory slots available, you can combine specialized accessories for much stronger setups. For example, you can simultaneously equip a defensive charm, a mobility-focused accessory, and a damage-enhancing item. This becomes especially useful during endgame bosses and difficult Shrine of Life challenges, where stacking bonuses can dramatically improve survivability and damage output.
At launch, the maximum number of accessory slots available is three:
| Total Slots | Status |
|---|---|
| 1 | Starting Capacity |
| 2 | After Warrior’s Mark |
| 3 | After Seasoned Warrior’s Mark |
| 4+ | Not currently available |
No additional accessory slot upgrades have been discovered beyond the Seasoned Warrior’s Mark reward.
If you want the strongest possible character build in The Adventures of Elliot, make the Temple of Trials a priority. Completing the standard challenge rewards the Warrior’s Mark for a second slot, while conquering the much harder Sophomore’s Trial grants the Seasoned Warrior’s Mark and unlocks the third and final accessory slot. Once both rewards are earned, you’ll have access to the game’s full accessory system and significantly more build customization.
