FromSoftware has been an immovable source of rich, gameplay driven RPGs over the years. We all have nothing short of praises for the devs over there. Even the salty ones among us who’ve learned to like the game after of course, learning to ‘Git Gud’.

Yeah, it’s one of those. The original game that started off an entire series of nerve-wracking yet painfully enjoyable gaming sprees.

What is a Colorless Demon Soul in Demon’s Souls

In Demon’s Souls, there’ll come a point when your character will eventually reach the ‘Black World Tendency’. Once this happens, a certain enemy type called ‘Primeval Demons’ will begin appearing in particular parts of the game and its map.

These Primeval Demons can each be killed to receive a drop: The colorless Demon Soul. These colorless demon souls can be used for important actions in the game, such as buying a Recovery Miracle from Saint Urbain. Also, you can use them at Blacksmith Ed’s in Stonefang to upgrade your high-end weapons.

Because of how there is a limit to the amount of Colorless Demon Souls that can be looted in every game cycle, what you’ll get is that there’ll only be one Primeval Demon in each world per playthrough of yours.

As such, it is doubly important that you know exactly where to look for them, and don’t end up missing even a single one.

Where to farm Colorless Demon Souls in Demon’s Souls

In Demon Souls, the spawn locations of these Primeval Demons never change. Keeping that in mind, head over to these locations and start farming:

Location #1 – Boletarian Palace (World 1-3)

Note, you can find and kill these primeval demons even in fractured mode. To begin, move ahead and through the arches, killing any enemies you spot in between. Then, climb up the steps and go through this open gate:

Take a detour up the narrow staircase on the right immediately after this gate. At the end of the path just before turning right, you’ll be able to see the Primeval demon waiting on the balcony in front.

Be aware that you’ll be facing two crossbow archers and you’d need to kill them before farming the soul:

Location #2 – Stonefang Tunnel (World 2-1)

Head up the stairs and go along the path above you from where you began. Be very careful and avoid getting hit by these boulders here as they can pretty much insta-kill you.

Head in through the entrance to this fort and activate the elevator (right by the door). Then head out on the right and hop on the make-shift elevator, riding it to the top level.

Heading all the way towards the bottom, on this elevator you’ll find the Primeval Demon at the base of the machinery. Kill it to farm your second Colorless Demon soul of the game.

Location #3 – Tower of Latria (World 3-2)

So getting to the Demon in this location is a bit of a longer walk than the rest. You’ll have to face some sizeable enemies between the both of you and make your way around them. For starters, make your way across the pathway in front of you:

Go through the small archway at the end of the path and head left. Go up the winding staircase till you reach the first platform.

Once you’re on the level platform, take a left and make your way across the small path in front. There are at least 4 gargoyles here and unless you’re confident in dealing with them, you can always dodge ’em and keep heading on.

Head right and go up the staircase. The gargoyles will probably chase you up. Use your shield to block them as you’ll need to get on the elevator coming up right in front.

Once you’re off the elevator, head up the first flight of stairs you see in front. When you reach the well-lit platform above, don’t keep going up the stairs. Instead, head left and down the stairs which will bring you eventually to these empty cages:

Stand in one of the cages and it’ll take you down to the ground where the swamp is located. Head forward and deal with the enemies in this location. If you get sidetracked, we recommend watching the video above from this timestamp to get a better sense of where you’re supposed to go.

Towards the end of this wooden path on the swamp, you’ll finally come across the Primeval Demon. Hack at it, collect your colorless Demon Soul and move on.

Location #4 – Shrine of Storms (World 4-2)

Head down the stairs, jump down the platform then backtrack through the tunnel behind you.

Ignore the enemies here and drop down all the way to the bottom level with a roll for minimum damage to your HP.

Once at the bottom of the room, head left and go up the first flight of stairs and you’ll reach a wall to the right of you on the landing. This is an illusion and can be revealed by striking it once and it shall melt away:

We recommend equipping the thief ring if you have one and then heading through the path revealed. Ignore the enemy here with dual swords and keep going left on the narrow pathway. You’ll find the Primeval Demon towards the end of your path:

Kill it for your fourth hit of Colorless Demon Soul.

Location #5 – Valley of Defilement (World 5-2)

In this part, you’ll have to make your way through the Swamp of Sorrow. The navigation can be a bit tricky here and if you find yourself getting sidetracked, you can refer to the video from this timestamp.

Drop down from the platform and make your way towards the back. It can take a while for you to get through the swamp, as there are a bunch of small enemies that you’ll have to face and almost no visibility to see the path that clearly.

Eventually, you’ll come to a clear, open space in the swamp and you shall see the Primeval Demon sitting right ahead of you. Kill any mosquitoes guarding it and then go ahead and farm your final Colorless Demon soul for the game.

So there you have it, these are all the locations where you can find the Primeval Demon in the game and farm Colorless Demon Souls from them.

We hope this helps you whether this was your first or second run-through of the game. Do let us in the comments how you’re finding the remake so far and how it holds up as compared to the first one.
