Crunchyroll is the best platform for watching anime out there. It offers all the latest episodes and comes with English audio for most popular shows. The platform has been steadily growing in popularity as anime takes over the world. While Crunchyroll did not allow you to download videos and view them offline previously, the newly launched plans for the service have brought this functionality. Let’s take a quick look at it.

Can you download TV Shows on Crunchyroll?

Crunchyroll has introduced two new paid tiers for its subscribers. These new tiers give you the opportunity to view and download videos offline. This is a great feature for people that travel a lot or do not wish to spend their cellular data watching anime episodes.

Earlier, Crunchyroll would offer two types of subscription models; Free and Fan. While the free membership was ad-supported, the ‘Fan’ membership costs around $8/month.

The two newly introduced tiers are titled ‘Mega Fan’ and ‘Ultimate Fan’. The Mega fan tier costs $10/month while the Ultimate Fan tier costs $15/month. Both these tiers allow you to download your favorite episodes and view them offline anytime you like.

What is the difference between Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan plans?

There are a few noticeable differences between the two tiers apart from their pricing. Let’s take a quick look at them.

When will the newly launched tiers be available?

Crunchyroll has already started rolling out the new tiers to select users in batches. The company is doing slow rollout to identify and fix major bugs without affecting their entire userbase. A stable version of these tiers is expected to be available to all users worldwide by the first week of September.
