Huawei has just unveiled its Honor 8 successor, the Honor 9 in China. The smartphone, as is the case with any other handset from the company, is powered by an in-house Kirin chipset, the Kirin 960 SoC to be precise.
And guess what? The Honor 9’s Geekbench benchmark scores managed to outshine both the Galaxy S8 and OnePlus 5’s scores thereby putting both these handsets to shame!
The Honor 9 managed to get 2158 and 7386 points in single and dual-core tests respectively leaving behind the OnePlus 5 and Galaxy S8 which scored 1977 and 6711, 2021 and 6737 points in the same tests respectively.

FYI, both the Galaxy S8 and the OnePlus 5 are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset. What this essentially means is that the Kirin 960 SoC is faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset according to the above Geekbench results.
Of course, various other factors come into play before labeling either of these chipsets the fastest. And, eventually, the real life performance is what matters the most than the numbers. But again, better numbers don’t hurt. Do they?
