Considering the fact that Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) Android 4.0 is only on 7% of Android devices out there (not counting devices running unofficial Android 4.0 ROMs), many out there are stuck on Android 2.3 Gingerbread or even 2.2 Froyo, which means they haven’t been able to enjoy the much improved Ice Cream Sandwich launcher.
That’s where Holo launcher comes in, a custom launcher that brings the Ice Cream Sandwich launcher experience to Froyo and Gingerbread. It features the same look and feel as the ICS launcher with ICS icons, folders, and design, along with features such as folders support, scrollable dock with multiple pages, homescreen icon and folder editing, homescreen gestures, and more.
Holo Launcher is available on Google’s Play Store (Android Market), but you can also head to its development page on XDA for further details and to get the latest beta versions to test and also to vote for new features. Try it out, and let us know how it works for you, in the comments below.
