Xiaomi’s 2017 flagship smartphone Mi6 is inching closer to its launch in Malaysia. The device has received certification from Malaysian agency SIRIM Berhad. This points towards the possibility of Xiaomi releasing it in the country pretty soon followed by its launch in other Asian countries including India.
Xiaomi Mi6 was officially unveiled last month at an event in China amidst much fanfare. Design-wise the phone didn’t ring much bells except for the four-sided 3D glass design, but the solid internal hardware and the ceramic edition covered up for that.
Powered by a 835 SoC paired with Adreno 540 GPU, the Xiaomi Mi6 sports an under-glass fingerprint scanner. It comes in two versions — the Standard edition with a glass body and the Ceramic edition. The former is available in two storage variants with 6GB RAM+64GB ROM and 6GB RAM+128GB ROM, while the latter packs in 6GB RAM and 128GB in-built storage.
Other features include 5.15 inch 1080p display, 12MP+12MP rear dual cameras and 8MP unit up front for selfies. The Mi6 comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with EMUI 8.0 on top and a 3350 mAh battery.
Xiaomi will be selling Mi6 Glass at a price of RMB 2499 and RMB 2899 for 64GB and 128GB variant recepectively while the Ceramic edition will be available for RMB 2999.
