Looks like it isn’t something many people have noticed in Android 4.2, which can be attributed to either the fact that Android 4.2 is running on very few devices right now or that it just isn’t a feature that people use too often, but Google has removed those cool face effects in the video recorder in Android 4.2’s camera found on stock Android-running devices like the Galaxy Nexus or Nexus 7.
If truth be told, I don’t think I’ve ever even used those effects on my Galaxy Nexus, but for those that have and like them will no doubt be wondering what happened to them. It seems that with such an advanced feature like Photo Sphere, which lets you take 360 degrees panorama photos, Google decided that those face effects in video recording weren’t important, or they just forgot to put them in, just like they forgot to put December in the contacts app.
But if you want to get all those face effects back, thankfully the Camera ICS app in the Play Store includes all of them and works just like the Ice Cream Sandwich camera works, with quite a few other effects as well, and you can download it by visiting the Play Store.
Anyone noticed this omission from the camera in Android 4.2 yet?
