Despite being far away from making an official appearance, info on the Samsung Galaxy S4 just keeps on getting rumored and leaked, with currently rumored specs including a 1080p Super AMOLED display and a 2.0GHz Exynos 5450 processor with Mali-T604 graphics. Now, a device with the model number GT-I9400, which all by means will be the model number of the Galaxy S3’s successor, has shown up in NenaMark benchmarks, painting a different picture.

The benchmark lists the display resolution as being a measly 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA), while the processor is said to be running at 1.2GHz with the Mali-400 GPU, both of which do not match the specs that everyone is expecting the Galaxy S4 to have when it launches next year in Q2, though Android 4.2 is one part of the spec sheet that the benchmark lists correctly.

However, earlier benchmarks for the Galaxy S3 also listed a WVGA display and a weaker processor, so this is probably history repeating itself, with Samsung no doubt looking to mask all real info on the device before its official announcement, much like they (rather successfully) did with the Galaxy S3. Not to mention that benchmarks, while a good source of information for upcoming devices, can be faked as well, so they shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

All in all, I have to say that the Galaxy S4 is one device that will no doubt again steal the thunder next year, both in specs as well as in pre-release anticipation. Samsung has gotten a knack lately for making people drool over their upcoming devices, and I’m sure it will be no different with the Galaxy S4.
