Google may have forgotten the Samsung Galaxy Nexus but folks over at XDA are still contributing for the legendary device to keep it up with latest from Google. An AOSP based Android 5.0 lollipop ROM just released for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, all thanks to the developer MWisBest.
Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM for Galaxy Nexus has released by the name FML (Fork My Life), an AOSP based ROM that’s available in both KitKat and Lollipop flavor. The KitKat version of the ROM has been a popular one with many advanced features that you may not see otherwise on a basic AOSP ROM.
However, this is a very early release of Android 5.0 Lollipop, the ROM doesn’t even have any of the advanced features of FML. Also, things like Camera and Mobile Data aren’t working yet. So we wouldn’t recommend you to install this ROM on your Galaxy Nexus if you use the device as your daily driver.
Anyway, even with this very early release, the Galaxy Nexus is reportedly running the Android 5.0 Lollipop very smooth. This re-affirms our belief that any Android device released since 2011 with 1GB RAM and a dual-core processor should be able to run AOSP based Android 5.0 builds just fine.
Download the Galaxy Nexus Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM from the original development page at XDA, we aren’t providing installation instructions and direct download links here as the ROM is in very early stages at this moment, and so the developer will be updating/bug fixing the ROM very frequently, to which may not be able cope with.
Galaxy Nexus Android 5.0 builds are available for both international and Verizon variant of the device. More information and download links on the pages linked below:
