Google introduced a new video-stabilizing app called Motion Stills last year to stabilize Live Photos captured on Apple iPhones. So far, the app has been exclusively available for iOS devices.
That’s, however, changing. The search-engine giant has finally made the app available for Android users yesterday. Interested users can download the app from the link provided below.
The Motion Stills app allows its users to either capture “Motion Stills” — Apple’s Live Photos essentially or one-minute long time lapses which the company refers to as “Fast-Forwards.”

Sadly, though, the app doesn’t allow you to import clips from your phone for stabilization purposes. The app stabilizes both the Motion Stills and Fast-Forwards in real time meaning you don’t have to capture the clip and wait for the animation.
Everything happens as you are recording, thanks to Google’s algorithm which “computes and stores the necessary stabilizing transformation as a low-resolution texture map.”
