Google has released a new app on the Play Store, which is a Samba client for Android. The app is known as Android Samba client.

For the unaware, Samba is an open-source implementation of the SMB/CIFS networking protocol. The original Samba software lets you share files between Unix based operating systems and Windows. Now you have an Android client as well.

The Android Samba Client is a simple app with just one screen where you have to enter the share path. Once you enter the share path, the app will ask you for a username and password (if required). Tap Mount and the files will instantly appear in Downloads/Files app.
