It was a good run (okay, not sales wise) for the Galaxy Nexus, the device that introduced Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to the world, and now it is finally time to say goodbye as Google has stopped selling the device on the Play Store and has also removed it from their device lineup, indicating that the beautiful and sleek Android 4.0 flagship is to be discontinued.
This is, as expected, being done to make way for the LG Nexus 4, Google’s latest Nexus smartphone that was announced yesterday and is to go on sale from November 13th (for the same lowly price of $350 like the Galaxy Nexus), but it is sad to see one of the best Android smartphones ever to be shown the door.
But be disappointed, you should not, as you will still be able to pick up the Galaxy Nexus from retailers and shops till the remaining stocks last, hopefully at attractively discounted prices. Or you could simply buy the Nexus 4, which trumps the Galaxy Nexus in specs (though it doesn’t come with LTE connectivity) and runs the latest version of Android as well.
Will you guys be looking to still buy a Galaxy Nexus if you get the chance, and the right prices?
