Google upcoming handsets, the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL, are being anticipated quite eagerly. But it looks like there is more in the pipeline besides the budget Pixel phones.

We are hearing (via Android Police) a few codenames for the Google products, all said to be not featuring notch. So, that could be the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, but the same source has it that one of them is the Pixel Watch.

The new codenames we discovered on the AOSP website (Android Open Source Project), and are ‘medaka’ and ‘salmon’ — the former being rumored to be the codename of the Pixel Watch. The names were revealed on Twitter.

Along with “Bonito” and “Sargo”, which are practically assured to be released this year, there seem to be 4 new Google products on the horizon.

Several rumors are doing the rounds regarding the identity of these products, especially Bonito and Sargo. While some speculate them to be Google Pixel 3 Lite and Google Pixel 3 Lite XL, which looks good to us, but there have been claims of the two codenames being the identity carrier of Google Pixel 4 and Google Pixel 4 XL.

Google has been delaying the release of a Pixel Watch for quite some time now. Given the stiff competition being given by other major players in the field, like the Apple Watch and the Samsung Galaxy Watch, it could be the company working hard behind the scenes to differentiate the smartwatch in a bid to level the playing field upon release.

Alphabet, Google’s parent company, recently received FDA approval for an electrocardiogram scanner, traditionally only found in its Verily Study Watch. ECG monitoring also happens to be the star spec of the Apple Watch series 4. This has raised hopes amongst tech watchers that this feature would also come part-and-parcel with the next Pixel watch.
