June 04, 2019: The update that brings June 2019 security patch to the Pixel 3 XL is now available as version PQ3A.190605.003 for the standard model and PQ3A.190605.004.A1 for the Verizon variant. Besides the updated security patch level, you also get fixes for the camera crash issue when recording videos, a Netflix app bug, and improves “Ok Google” accuracy.
May 11, 2019: Sprint is rolling out the latest May 2019 security patch to the Pixel 3 XL as version PQ3A.190505.002. The update is airborne and might take a few days before everyone gets the download notification.
May 08, 2019: Android Q beta 3 is now available for download. The OTA update is hitting the devices running beta 2 version, though you can install the update manually too.
April 02, 2019: Verizon has a new update for the Pixel 3 that installs the latest April 2019 security patches. The update, which has version PQ2A.190405.003, was first released a couple of days ago but being a staggered rollout, it’s only now that some users are receiving it.

Google Pixel 3 XL Android Q update
- Both Pixel and Pixel XL are eligible for Q
- Android Q Beta 2 released on April 3
- Beta 1 was released on March 13
- Stable release expected in August
After launch, Google updated its support page revealing the period of software support for its latest flagships, noting that the Pixel 3 XL will receive Android OS and security updates for three years – a period ending October 2021. This means the phone, alongside the smaller Pixel 3, will receive Android OS updates to Android Q, Android R and Android S.
As you read this, you can already install Android Q beta on your Pixel 3 XL.
