If you’re someone who has a lot of videos uploaded on YouTube or plan to upload some in the future, you’ll be happy to hear that Google now allows you to re-download your uploaded videos from your account in their original quality and size, without any changes.
According to the Google Liberation Blog, it’s a “your videos in, your videos out” initiative that gives you all your original uploaded videos back in the same form as they were when uploaded, instead of in their transcoded, compressed and lower-quality form as was previously the case. This is quite a good move and might even make people start using YouTube as a video backup service so they can get them back when they want.
Go on, go get those videos back!
