Google Now has finally evolved into a more personal assistant. Going by the moniker of Google Assistant, the AI powered assistant isn’t just smart enough to understand context based conversation, but it is also connected to other Google products and works in sync with them.
For example, Google Home which basically uses the Google Assistant at its core functionality can listen to your commands be it through voice or through your smartphone. From making lists, to settings alarms to translating languages on the go Google Assistant is very diverse when it comes to the operations it can carry out.
Coming to context dependent conversations, the Google Assistant pays attention to the previous query and provide answer accordingly. Let’s say you’re planning a date, so you ask the Assistant for a movie theater near your University, then you jump to the next question and ask if there’s a Spanish restaurant nearby. Google Assistant is smart enough to understand that and even provide you with options to book a dinner date from within the app itself.
The Google Assistant utilizes various bots from third party apps (be it booking a cab, seats in a restaurant or movie tickets) and thus makes using these third party services a breeze.
Google Assistant was until now available exclusively to Google’s Pixel phones only. However, only recently the company announced to release Assistant to all Android devices running on Android Marshmallow or Nougat.
While the rollout of Google Assistant is in Google’s hands, what we can least do is guide you through to keep your phone ready to take the Google Assistant update when Google releases it to your device. You gotta make sure that you’ve the latest versions of Google Play services and Google (search) app installed on your devices to get Google Assistant update.
Let’s get started..

→ Download Google Play services APK: ARM and ARM64 | x86 and x86_64 - Install latest Google app: The latest version (6.14.12.21 or above) of the Google App is required for Google Assistant.
→ Download Google app APK: ARM64 | ARM | x86 - Change phone’s system language to English USA: The Google Assistant will roll out in phases, targeting its english speaking US users first so make sure you change your phone’s system language to English USA. Below is a quick guide on how to do this:

Tip: If you fail to get Google Assistant, Go to Settings » Apps » Google App » Clear Cache and Data. Reboot and the Assistant should be available.
Another thing to note is that the Google Assistant, at the moment works only with Marshmallow and Nougat.
