It has been a long time coming, and Google has finally released the Gmail update in the Play Store that brings along pinch-to-zoom support for re-sizing emails. This updated version has been unofficially available for quite some time and comes as default in Android 4.2, but now it is available for every device running Android 4.0 and above.
The new Gmail can also auto-fit messages (part of the pinch-to-zoom feature) and brings support for swiping away emails to delete or archive them. Other changes include the ability to upload photos and videos from within Gmail, larger photo previews and gallery view for photo attachments, and the usual bug fixes and performance enhancements.
The update is now live on the Play Store, and you can hit the link below to grab the update or do it from the Play Store app on your device itself. Keep in mind that the Play Store may not notify you that the update is available, but going into the Gmail page will show you the update button anyway.
