Gionee released the Elife E7 in 2013 as the firm’s flagship smartphone and its sequel did not turn up in the last year. Now, it seems like Gionee is prepping its next flagship smartphone allegedly called Elife E8. The device has been spotted on the Chinese regulatory database TENAA.
As it has been a couple of years, the Elife E8 seems to be packed with several enhancements over its prequel. Notably, the size of the screen appears to have been increased to 6 inches and it has a Quad HD 1440p resolution as well. Like its predecessor, this panel is listed to be an AMOLED one.
Usually, TENAA listings do not mention the specific chipset, and hence we do not know which chipset is used by the Gionee Elife E8. However, the listing reveals that the handset will make use of a 2 GHz octa core processor. As the Gionee Elife E7 used a Snapdragon 800 chipset, we can expect this chipset to use a Snapdragon 810 chipset that is a part of the other flagship models launched lately.
This chipset seems to be paired with 3 GB of RAM and an ample 32 GB of native storage space that can be further expanded using a micro SD card slot.
A major addition to the upcoming Gionee flagship is a fingerprint scanner that is claimed to be on its back underneath the primary camera. The main snapper is said to be a 23 MP unit that is quite massive. Also, there seems to be an 8 MP front facer onboard the Elife E8.
The Gionee Elife E8 is listed to measure 1 64.0 x 82.3 x 9.6 mm in dimension and weigh in at 207 grams. It seems to have a 3,520 mAh battery to energize it. As of now, there is no detail on the pricing and availability of the alleged Gionee handset, but we can expect to know more about the device in the coming weeks.
