How to unlock each armor step-by-step
Main story and automatic unlocks
Play through the main story to automatically obtain Onyro Armor, Mercenary Attire, and Nine Tail Armor. Upgrades for Onyro Armor are tied to story progress.
How to get Taro’s Armor
Step 1
Approach your horse and set up camp; Taro may randomly appear and give you the armor.
Step 2
Alternatively, visit the south of Tokachi Range at Shizunai Woods and look for Taro’s camp. Interact to receive the armor after a brief event.
Mythic and side tale armors
Step 1
Start and complete these specific tales at the indicated regions to unlock the following:
- Armor of the Undying (Shikari Plain, Mythic Tale)
- Spider Lily Armor (Tokachi Range, Mythic Tale)
- Crimson Kimono (Teshio Ridge, Mythic Tale)
Step 2
Finish side tales in Tokachi Range and Nayoro Wilds for Dragonfly Armor and Robes for Sitturaynu, respectively.
Oshima Coast and bounty rewards
Step 1
Complete the Sensei Tale: Pride Before Tea in Oshima Coast for Ginji’s Guard Armor.
Step 2
