Jelly Bean aka Android’s 4.1 one important and talked about feature was Google Now, designed to make it easier to get information automatically without the need to do anything, as Google Now learns your habits and provides information accordingly. And of course, the development community wasted no time in porting it to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, so that those not running Jelly Bean could make use of Google Now too. One of the undertakings to make Google Now properly work on Android 4.0 was the “Google Now for ICS Project”, which we covered with steps to install and use it a few days back → here.

However, one limitation of Google Now on Android 4.0 is that one cannot use the inbuilt voice search system as that requires Jelly Bean to work. Now, even that limitation has been bypassed (though not completely) by the “Voice Search for Google NOW” app, a third-party app available on the Play Store that can be used to perform voice search in Google Now. The app can however be used with only Google Now obtained by using “Google Now for ICS Project”, so you’ll have to use that method to obtain Google Now on your Android 4.0 device.

So hit the link below to head to the Play Store for more details and to install “Voice Search for Google Now!” on your device (or open the Play Store app on your device and search for and install it from there). Keep in mind that you must be using Google Now obtained by using “Google Now for ICS Project” (see link in 1st paragraph above), otherwise it will not work. Let us know how it works!
