Google has started rolling out a new update which brings a new feature to its Gboard virtual keyboard app making it easier to edit and enter text. The update, which was first released for the app’s beta users, has been now made available to all Android devices. However, Google is yet to roll it out for iOS devices.
The new feature can be activated by following these steps. Click on the G button or the arrow in the keyboard’s top right corner. A cursor with arrows pointing left and right can be seen. Tap on that for text editing.
Google first began tests of a new Copyless Paste feature in Chrome for Android following which this new Gboard virtual keyboard app feature has been rolled out.

Google merged the standard-issue Google Keyboard for Android into Gboard a few months ago followed with the introduction of Gboard as a separate app for Android. This increased its popularity and presently Gboard has 500 million to 1 billion app installs on Android.

awesome!! this is great now after the update, thanks team!!
This is brilliant. Integrating google keyboard and Gboard is one of the best moves google has made in its app development department. For all those who hasn’t tried this, please do. It supports theming and works like a charm.
Gboard was initially available only for iOS but it made its way into android and I couldn’t be happier
