Galaxy Tab S2 receives Android 7.1.1 based Lineage OS ROM (Unofficial)

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 has now joined the Lineage OS club. Though the ROM is unofficial for now, we may see an official release very soon. Lineage OS will be taking charge of CyanogenMod and all its services henceforth.

The transition can take some time, as there are many Android devices running the CM ROM. The Lineage team may focus on devices that were already supported by CM14.1 nightly builds initially.

You can head over to Lineage OS official website to check out the team’s progress thus far. This is also where official Lineage OS builds will be made available.

Official Lineage OS is expected to be out by the first week of January with CM support officially coming to a halt on December 31st. The procedure for flashing this ROM should be the same as the rest of the custom ROMs out there. Before you proceed, take caution and more importantly take backups.

Note: This is an experimental and unofficial build of Lineage OS. There could be some serious bugs/issues with this ROM which may not be suitable for everyday usage. Install/flash this ROM to your device at your own risk.

Download Android 7.1 Nougat Gapps

Since this is an AOSP based ROM, you’re require to flash/install a Nougat supported Gapps package separately via recovery to get Google services like Play store and others back on your device.
