Samsung has a new software update for the Galaxy Tab Active 2 that installs One UI based on Android 9 Pie to a tablet that came out in 2017 running Android Nougat. Good stuff, Samsung.
The rollout started in Italy late last week and is arriving as version T395XXU4CSF1, suggesting that it’s a target for the LTE variant. Of course, the Wi-Fi only variant (SM-T390) will join the party soon.
The new software also brings the latest June 2019 security patch to the tablet on top of other One UI goodies that include Night mode, improved notification management, Adaptive themes, reorganized menus, revamped Bixby, and more.
Also, after this update, the Galaxy Tab Active 2 will work with Gear IconX 2018, Galaxy Buds, and HEIF images.
