The Samsung Galaxy S9 will have a processor that is 15 percent more efficient than the current version. And we’re talking about the Exynos chipset from Samsung, not the Snapdragon one.
It has been reported that the Galaxy S9 would come with the Snapdragon 845 in some regions, and the Exynos 9810 in others. Now, the latest report states that the new chipset is already in mass production, and will be available in the beginning of next quarter.
The Exynos 9810 was announced recently by Samsung, and it boasts some really good specs. It is still based on the 10nm process, which makes it easier to produce. However, this is the second generation of the 10nm chipset using the 10LPP(Low Power Plus) technology, compared to last years 10LPE(Low Power Early) tech.
According to Samsung, this second gen chipset is 10 percent more powerful and 15 percent more efficient than before. This means, the next Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones will have improved battery life, and better performance.
As of now, reports and rumors point to a February release for the Galaxy S9 series. The phone will look similar in design to the current Galaxy S8 models and sport the same Infinity display, but will feature improved hardware.
