A recent report out of Korea has further confirmed that Samsung will be indeed ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack on its upcoming flagship phone, Galaxy S8, and offer a premium wireless set of earphones from Harman.
Samsung’s partnership with Harman was rumored previously as well, but today’s report clearly explains the partnership between the two companies as regard to Galaxy S8. However, a premium wireless earphone from Harman might also increase the Galaxy S8 prices.
This move by Samsung is of course influenced by Apple. The latter removed 3.5mm headphone jack from its iPhone 7 model and shipped the device with wireless earphones called Airpods.
The Galaxy S8 is probably going to give another leap to the Galaxy S series of devices with the removal of headphone jack and physical Home button from the device’s front panel. Before the S8, Galaxy S6 Edge pushed the S series back into business after declining sales from Galaxy S4 and S5.
Galaxy S8 is rumored to release in mid-April this year. And it’s going to be a very interesting release by Samsung. We’ll posting more about the device as we come to learn. Stay tuned..
That means you won’t be able to recharge the phone and listen to music at the same time — just like the iPhone 7. On the other hand, we expect the Galaxy S8 to feature wireless charging, in which case you’ll be able to both charge the handset and use the USB-C port for audio purposes.
