Galaxy S8 and S8+ bluetooth issue fixed through a software update

The flagship Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus had been recently plagued by a bluetooth issue where the device would restart if you tried using a wireless speaker. Samsung has patched up this problem with a new update. The update also installs the May security patch, albeit at the nick of time.

In addition to that, the update also improves overall performance with system tweaks and lots of other under-the-hood enhancements. Of late, Samsung has kept it consistent when releasing security patches for a whole lot of devices, even its budget sector.

The update is rolling out over the air, so if you haven’t already received the update notification, you can try checking manually in Settings » About » Software update.

Also, before downloading the update, ensure that your important files and data are backed up securely, in the event of the update failing. Download over WiFi to save on extra data charges, as the update is pretty big, sized at around 620MB. Make sure that your device has at least 50% charge before installing the update.
