Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Android 7.0 update confirmed for Australia, not 7.1.1

While we were expecting the final builds of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Nougat update to be on Android 7.1.1, but as per the folks over at Vodafone Australia, the Galanxy S7 and S7 Edge will first get the Android 7.0 Nougat update as the company updated its upcoming softare version status pages for the device.

The carrier confirmed Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge variants in Australia. The status of the firmware builds, however, states that there are issues found during testing and that the carrier is awaiting new software version from Samsung.

Although, the new software version with fixes for the current issues could be based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. But when questioned about the final Android version that will run on the Vodafone Australia’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge variants, the carrier’s representatives confirmed that it’ll be Android 7.0 Nougat and not Android 7.1.1.

For the unknown, Samsung will be bringing Samsung Experience 8.0 with Nougat update for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. And the device will also get Secure folder feature with the Nougat update, allowing the user to store data separately and safely from prying eyes. As seen from the beta update, new dialing screens and other animations will be arriving too with final builds. The update will also bring a color balance option to the adaptive display mode.
