Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users in Canada are in for a treat as various carriers in the country have started rolling out the Nougat update to these devices. The update is being pushed as over the air and is in the roll out as we speak.
Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users on Koodo, Rogers, Bell, Telus, Virgin and Sasktel have reported receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update. To Galaxy S7 units, the new firmware update is arriving as build number G930W8VLU2BQB6 while Galaxy S7 Edge devices are receiving the software update as build number G935W8VLU2BQB6.
Along with the Nougat goodies, the software update also comes with regular bug fixes and system improvements. The OTA update is being rolled out in a phased manner and as such may take some time before it hits your Galaxy device. If you want to check for it manually, head to Settings > About device > System updates.
However, it is recommended to get your handsets at least 50 percent charged and connected to a WiFi network before hitting the download button. Also, backing up personal data will surely help.
