Samsung is rolling out a new software update to Galaxy S5. The update installs July security patch and is being seeded as we speak.

The update arrives as build number G900FXXU1CQG1. Other than the monthly security patch, the update also tags along regular bug fixes and system improvements. Although a minor one, it is highly recommended as the update optimizes the security of your device.

The software update is being rolled out over the air (OTA). As is the case with OTA updates, it is being pushed in stages. As such, it may take a while to hit your device.

But you can always check for it manually. Head over to Settings > About device > System updates. Needless to say, get your device sufficiently charged and connected to a WiFi network before hitting the download button.

Galaxy S5 was Samsung’s flagship device launched with Android KitKat on board which has been bumped up to Marshmallow OS. If you looking for another update to Nougat, you are gonna be disappointed as that is not on the cards for Samsung.
