Samsung has finally released the long-overdue Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for its 2016 edition Galaxy A5, and it begins with model no. SM-A510M, for the regions Trinidad and Tobago, and Panama.
The Marshmallow update comes as build A510MUBU2BPF3. If you own a Galaxy A5 whose model no. is exactly A510M, then it’s good time to hit the ‘check for update’ button buried into Settings, About device, System updates section.
The Android Marshmallow update brings the Doze mode, Now on Tap and ability to control permissions for apps, as main features. Equally importantly, it brings solid performance boosts and stability improvements, under the hood.
Other Galaxy A5 sets, model no. SM-A510F, SM-A510G, SM-A510H, SM-A510i, SM-A510FN, etc. should be receiving the 6.0 update too soon, but if we are to guess, it could be still 2 to 4 weeks away.
The Marshmallow update for the first model may be kept under watch, and when things look totally good, it’s rolled out for other models.
FYI, other Samsung devices to be blessed with Marshmallow update are: Galaxy A7 2016, Galaxy A3 2016, Galaxy On5, AT&T Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, among other devices.
