Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra has been dissected, and the findings are raising eyebrows. A teardown video by JerryRigEverything revealed that the phone still contains the inductive charging coil used in previous models to charge the Bluetooth-enabled S Pen. This discovery comes despite Samsung's decision to remove Bluetooth capabilities from the S25 Ultra's S Pen, a move that has stirred debate among users.

The absence of Bluetooth means the S Pen bundled with the S25 Ultra doesn't require charging, as it lacks features like Air Actions and remote camera controls. This has led to speculation about why Samsung would include a seemingly unnecessary component.

One theory suggests that Samsung may have kept the charging coil as a backup plan, in case the backlash against the Bluetooth removal was severe. This would have allowed them to release a separate, Bluetooth-enabled S Pen. However, Samsung has explicitly stated that the S25 Ultra will not support any Bluetooth-powered S Pen, making this scenario less likely.

Another possibility is simple cost-cutting. Rather than redesign the internal components, Samsung opted to keep the existing S Pen charging system. This decision may also be setting the stage to eventually phase out the S Pen entirely. It would be less backlash to remove the pen all together from the Ultra line if Samsung gradually reduces its usefulness over the years.

Regardless of the reason, the presence of the charging coil has sparked discussion about Samsung's long-term plans for the S Pen and the Galaxy S Ultra line.
