UPDATE: We now have a newer release date for Galaxy S II in India. Click on the link!
Samsung Mobile India just confirmed on their Facebook fan page that they will be launching Galaxy S 2 in India in next month, April ‘11. There has been already lots of talks about the SGS2 and the April Launch is no big surprise, but it’s always nice to hear it officially, right?
So, for all android enthusiastic in India — and of course, those who’re planning to purchase a new high end mobile phone — Galaxy S II is what they should keep their eyes on. But we don’t know which version it would turn out to be. It’s said that the phone will come in 2 versions: One with Super AMOLED display and Samsung’s own Exynos dual-core processor while the other will feature Super LCD display with nVidia’s Tegra 2 dual-core processor.
Other features which remain same for both the phones are:
- 4.3 inch screen
- Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
- 8 megapixel camera with LED flash capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 fps
- 2 megapixel camera in the front
- Gorilla glass
- TouchViz UI v4.0
- 1GB RAM
No doubt, it’s the best Indian android users could get since LG is yet to launch its Optimus 2X in India and Motorola — frankly — has no interest in launching its flagship phone (Atrix 4G) in India. And if you look at SGS2’s specs, it clearly outshines both the 2X and Atrix 4G with the Exynos processor, 4.3 inch super AMOLED gorilla glass screen, 1 GB RAM (same as Atrix), etc.
So, who and who of yous are readying up to flaunt with SGS2 this summer?
