It seems like we have a final date for the release of Samsung Galaxy Note 8. As per The Investor which cited The Bell as its source, this upcoming Samsung Note device will be launched on August 23rd. While another past report had suggested that Samsung was planning to unveil the device some time later next month in New York, the date was not confirmed.
However, just yesterday we reported that Samsung could announce the Galaxy Note 8 on September 10. In both the cases, one thing is common, that Samsung plans to launch its eighth-gen Note device before the launch of Apple’s new iPhone 8.

Notably, Samsung intends to commence the sale of Note 8 globally from September. The Korean manufacturer has taken to the trend of unveiling two flagship products – the first being the S-series phones during the first half of the year and the second being the Note series usually at the IFA trade show in Berlin to give competition to Apple which launches its flagship iPhone in the latter half of the year.
Another strong reason being cited for Samsung to advance the Galaxy Note 8 release to August against the scheduled September launch is poor Galaxy S8 series sales. It’s being reported that Galaxy S8 isn’t doing as good as was expected.

As such, Samsung is banking on Galaxy Note 8 to revive its fortunes. It will be interesting to see if this device, which is a successor to the ill fated Galaxy Note 7, will turn out to be the OEM’s saving grace.
