After getting open1your1eyes0’s touch-based recovery a couple of weeks ago, we now have another brand-new touch based recovery that has been released for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (GSM and CDMA). This time around, it comes from recognized developer koush, who gave us Clockworkmod Recovery, which has since become an integral tool, for any Android device user, who likes to experiment with new custom ROMs and kernels.
What we have here today is a fully touch-based version of Clockworkmod Recovery or CWM, developed by Koush, for the Galaxy Nexus. The recovery is still a beta, but XDA member ale.landra91, who posted about this has said it’s fully working. Well, there’s only one way to find out, right?

How To Install Clockworkmod Recovery Touch on Galaxy Nexus
ADB Method
- Download the CWM recovery image file from the link provided above.
- Rename the file to ‘recovery.img‘
- Transfer the ‘recovery.img‘ file to the folder where ‘fastboot.exe‘ is located. If you have set up ADB using the link above, fastboot.exe would be located at C:UsersUserNameknives-and-forksbinwindowsandroid . If you’ve set up ADB the traditional way, it would be located either in the /Tools or /Platform-Tools folder in Android SDK installation folder.
- Turn off your phone
- Reboot the device into fastboot mode by holding down the Volume Up and Volume Down keys, then pressing the Power button.
- Open a command prompt on your computer.
- Change directory to the directory where fastboot.exe and recovery.img are located. (Or, from within the fastboot.exe folder, Shift+Right-click and choose “Open command window here” from the popup menu.)
- Flash recovery.img to your phone by issuing this command at the command prompt: “fastboot flash recovery recovery.img” (without the quotes).
- Reboot the device and after it completely reboots, you should have the touch-based version of ClockworkMod Recovery on your Galaxy Nexus.
