Galaxy J7 (2016) Nougat update being tested by Samsung, spotted on GFXBench

Apparently, the first device to get Nougat from Samsung J series would be the Galaxy J7 2016. The device was spotted on GFXBench with Android 7.0 Nougat.

If it wasn’t for Galaxy J7 2016, the upcoming devices from J Series – J3 2017, J5 2017 and J7 2017, were expected to feature Android Nougat. Anyway, previously, Samsung had also hinted at Nougat for Galaxy J7 2016, speculated to be launched at the end of July.

Galaxy J7 2016, which was launched last year is a mid-range device from Samsung that features 5.5 inch HD display. You also get 1.6GHz Octa-core processor with 2GB RAM and 16 GB storage. In the camera segment, the device flaunts 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. Further, the device supports 4G LTE on its Dual SIMs.

The Nougat update will bring features such as split-window mode, notification controls, improved menu settings and user interface on Galaxy J7 2016.

Meanwhile, the successor of Galaxy J7 2016, Galaxy J7 2017 was recently spotted on GFXBench. The device is expected to feature 3GB RAM and will run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
