Following the Samsung Galaxy A7 specs leak, we have another one coming your way in the form of Galaxy J3 2017. Sadly though, the 2017 variant of J3 doesn’t quite look like an upgrade for the J3 2016 variant, at least in the leaked specifications we’ve got.

The display will continue to be at 1280×720 pixels at 5’’ with Super AMOLED capacitive screen. Snapdragon 425 will power this low-end phone, clearly showing that Samsung has no intentions for a Nougat update from launch OS Marshmallow, as the SoC is not supported.

However, the processor for J3 2017 has been clocked at 1.4GHz @Cortex A53, an ARM v8 processor. The RAM has been upgraded to 2GB from the previous 1.5GB. Internal storage has also found some boost with minimum 16GB and a higher 32GB variant unlike the predecessor’s 8/16GB variants.

The camera has taken a clear beating in this version as they have been downgraded to 5MP rear camera and 2MP selfie camera, as it was a combo of 8MP/5MP in J3 2016. However, we expect the leaked specs about the camera to change as the downgrade looks highly unlikely, and a leak at Geekbench benchmark is whole different story than official spec-sheet.

The Galaxy J3 comes with model no. SM-J327P, so, it’s headed to Sprint naturally — the P at the end of its model guarantees that. This one looks pretty much like a low-end phone, clearly not for the tech savvy users.

You may be excited to read about Galaxy A7 2017 variant specs, though. And, you can keep a watch on all thing update as our Samsung Nougat updates.
