Update [April 03, 2017]: Samsung is now rolling out the March security patch to the Galaxy C9 Pro, albeit a bit late. The OTA update, which comes as build number C900FDDU1AQC32 also features bug fixes and performance improvements over the previous build. As for Nougat, we expect it to hit the device pretty soon, within Q2 2017.
The Galaxy C9 Pro is a great device and it is sure to get the Android 7.0 Nougat update. An exact time-frame is not yet known, but we can expect the device to get the Nougat update in 2017.
Samsung released the C9 Pro in China in October with some very good specs. The best part of this smartphone is its price. For what you pay, you get a powerful smartphone with a large 6-inch AMOLED display.
The device features a Snapdragon 653 processor, 6GB of RAM, a 16MP cam in the back and another 16MP camera in the front. There’s also a massive 4000mAh battery inside to power the smartphone. A black variant of the C9 Pro recently leaked online.
Will Galaxy C9 Pro Get Nougat Update?
Most definitely! This is a very new device and although it came with Android 6.0.1 on board, it will surely be updated to Android 7.1.1. The processor supports the update and the device has enough power to run the latest Android OS.
Galaxy C9 Pro Nougat Release Date?
Expected release date: Q1 2017
After recent rumors about Samsung jumping directly to Android 7.1.1 tests, it could be that the C9 Pro might also get the latest update. An exact ETA is not known, but it will most likely get the update in the first half of 2017.
Samsung is currently testing the Android Nougat update for the S7 and S7 Edge, so it might take another few months for the company to test the C9 Pro update.
Galaxy C9 Pro Nougat: What to Expect?
The biggest change will obviously be all the sweet new features in Android Nougat, but users can also look forward to the new UI — Samsung Experience.
With Android Nougat update, Samsung has slimmed down the user interface and made it much more cleaner. It also has less bloatware, which means the UI is smooth and very responsive.
